A Texas woman divided the internet when she shared a TikTok about how she orders food at restaurants. Typically, you’ll see a server bring out food for multiple people to save time. But this woman says she absolutely does not want her food grouped with other people’s food.
Kym (@kym.jenkins) shared a TikTok stating, “I can’t stand eating with a large party!” As to be expected, the internet has a lot to say about this. In Kym’s video, she records herself speaking with a server about how she wants her food to come out to her. She says she doesn’t want her food “grouped” with other people’s food. She shakes her head, urging the server to bring her food out alone and “don’t try to group stuff together.”
Kym gives the server an example, saying if she wants to order corn, the server should bring only her corn out. Then, she said the server can come back and take everybody else’s orders. The server tells her, “That makes my life a million times easier. I got you.” Kym says, “Okay” with a smile on her face, pleased that her food will be brought out only for her.
In the comments to Kym’s video, commenters had a lot to say. The video spurred many different reactions but the general consensus remained the same: They don’t like when customers demand this type of service. As one commenter stated, “At some point you have to refuse service to people who act like this.” Another commenter added, “Nightmare table.”
Other commenters, however, said that Kym wasn’t in the wrong for asking for this type of service. One commenter said that it actually makes things easier for a server to do things this way. She said, “As a server this would actually make things run smoother, dealing with a big group. Not everyone is ready to order at the same time. This way we don’t have to worry about pacing, just bringing things when they’re ready. Some people are just hateful and are judging you for no reason.” Commenters continue to share their reactions and opinions on Kym’s divisive video.
