Soulslike players may be used to finding weapons in every corner of a map or even as enemy drops. However, Mortal Shell 2 does things differently and only has a couple of them to make combat more impactful. One of the first ones you’ll get to search is the Forgotten Crossbow, which will replace the first Sidearm of Mortal Shell 2. Here we have a guide to show you how to find it.
Forgotten Crossbow Location
If you already bought the map, you’ll only get an estimate of where it will be. The exact area is inside the Flooded Village dungeon.
To locate the dungeon, you need to follow the map we marked above and then look for an arc covered by a wooden wall. Destroy the wall and look through the arc to reveal the dungeon’s entrance. Once the illusory wall opens, just go through the fog, defeat the first enemies, and take the second elevator until you go down to the dungeon.
While not necessary to get the Forgotten Crossbow in Mortal Shell 2, there is a Grisha miniboss, which we recommend beating to obtain an item that lets you summon a Grisha during combat. Again, it isn’t a requirement, but you get some sweet rewards. If you want to beeline it from the entrance to the crossbow, just drop down, defeat the enemies, and head toward the house in front of the elevator and follow the path downstairs.
There, you will need to face several enemies and make your way to the corner of the flooded village until you spot an interactable on top of a crate. This is the Damp Key. Once you have it, return to the entrance to where the house with the stairs was.
You’ll see a locked door, which you can now open with the Damp Key. Once open, just walk toward the item on the table, and lo and behold, it is the Forgotten Crossbow.
Out of all Sidearms in Mortal Shell 2, we believe the Forgotten Crossbow is the best due to its fire rate, as well as the number of shots you can fire with your base resolve.
