An Oregon artist created waves when she brought up something she didn’t like from a board meeting. Unfortunately, in doing so, she invited a whole lot of drama from an art center where she’s spent a big portion of her life creating.
TikTok user and artist Mudandmaychemshop, Megan, had been sharing her work with her local art center. A signature mark of her art is sometimes using strong language to make a political point. Apparently, her art caused “mass hysteria” in her small Oregon town, according to recent TikTok posts.
They tried to censor her and, during a board meeting, another board member said something terrible. According to Megan, the board member inappropriately remarked that she had a “sexual problem” and she should get therapy.
When Megan brought this up to the association, she didn’t receive and apology and has since spoken with an attorney. In her videos, one of the employees at the art center acted incredibly condescending towards her.
The employee, Carol, tells her it’s wrong she’s “doing this to the art center.” She tells Megan she “feels sorry for her” and refuses to take accountability. Carol attempts to guilt-trip Megan, saying “We have allowed you all this.” Someone in the background defends Megan, loudly stating she has “earned the right” to be there.
In a second video, Carol tries to tell Megan she did get an apology. Megan doesn’t accept it, arguing that it wasn’t a real apology. “It’s a backhanded apology when you’re telling me that you’re sorry I’m doing this to the art center.” Carol can’t really come up with a good answer for Megan at this point and tries to end the conversation.

In the comment section of Megan’s TikTok videos, they were overwhelmingly in her corner. Not only did they instantly see Carol as part of the problem, they found it an exceedingly inappropriate way of handling a sensitive situation. “I hate Carol after only 3 seconds,” one commenter joked.
Another viewer attacked Carol’s character, saying she was a “flawed product of the patriarchy.” In the thread that followed, another user argued it was even worse: “Carol is just a condescending B.” Others called Carol’s actions as “passive aggressive” and felt she treated Megan like a child.
Thankfully, this situation hasn’t hindered Megan’s pursuit of art. Since the incident, Megan has shared on TikTok she’ll be starting her own art studio in Coosbay.
