As election season intensifies in the US, Texas Senator candidate James Talarico, also currently a Democrat State Representative, is going viral for some rather vicious counterattacks against his GOP rival, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, and another GOP Senator who has been insulting his masculinity, Ted Cruz. In a recent speech, Talarico has laid out his definition of what a real man should be while also calling out the two GOP politicians as “weak men” who “sold their souls.”
Talarico dished out his latest clapbacks earlier this week during his speech in Austin, Texas, where one TikTok clip highlighted his most candid response to the Republicans questioning his masculinity. In the speech, Talarico claims he was born to a single mom and learned his values from his stepfather. “He does what’s right even when no one is watching,” claims Talarico.
“Here’s what real men don’t do: they don’t enrich themselves by stealing from other people… and they don’t sell their soul to the highest bidder,” says Talarico. He added, “Real men serve others; weak men serve themselves.” Earlier, Talarico also clapped back specifically at Ken Paxton, stating that Paxton will “steal your tax dollars, he’ll steal your healthcare… he’ll steal your pen,” referring to the surveillance footage of Paxton allegedly taking a $1,000 pen that didn’t belong to him.
Much of the drama surrounding the two politicians ignited as early as June, when Ken Paxton regarded Talarico as “too low-T for Texas” while Ted Cruz fired shots at him, “If you were making a list of 1,000 adjectives to describe this guy, ‘masculine’ would not be one of them. I mean, if a stiff breeze came by it would blow him over like a feather.”
People Online Also Mocked Talarico’s Rivals
Talarico’s speech has notably gone viral with millions of views across several social media platforms. Some Reddit users then noted that the insults against Talarico were somewhat odd, pointing out how politicians like Cruz didn’t seem to exude a traditional and conservative image of masculinity. “Ted Cruz talking about masculinity has to be the most ironic thing ever,” according to one Reddit commenter.
Some also questioned what exactly the Republicans and conservatives saw about Talarico that made them regard him as immasculine. “Is it feminine to just be a normal guy now? Fellas is it gay to just be a fella?!” jokes a commenter, while another replied sarcastically, “You have to have a beard and talk [expletive] about women and minorities.”
Others dug up dirt on Ted Cruz, recalling how Trump even mocked Cruz and his wife in the past, yet the Senator kept backing him, “Trump took a verbal [expletive] all over Cruz’s wife and he still licks his boots till this day. I think everyone would agree a ‘man’ should defend his loved ones and Cruz failed at this basic task.” In any case, Paxton and Cruz have yet to answer to Talarico’s latest jab.
