Spider-Man: Far From Home isn’t due out until July next year, but already we can whet our appetites in the meantime by checking out the copious amounts of casting news of late.
And lo and behold, the latest cast member to join the cast of the Spider-sequel is Remy Hii.
The Australian actor, who is currently in his early thirties, is perhaps most famous for having a significant role in this year’s Crazy Rich Asians, playing Alistair Cheng.
Before that, he starred in the Netflix-exclusive Marco Polo from 2014 to 2016. As is a rite of passage for many Australian-born actors, Hii also had a role in the Ozzy soap Neighbours for 57 episodes from 2013 to 2014.
Currently, the actor stars as Simon Van Reyk in the Australian TV drama Harrow which has recently been renewed for a second season on ABC.
As of now, it’s uncertain as to what role Hii will be playing in the new film.
So far, Jake Gyllenhall has been cast as Spider-Man’s enemy, Mysterio with J. B Smoover and Oli Hill cast in currently undisclosed roles. We will also see Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury and Colbie Smulder’s Maria Hill return to the MCU.
Fans can expect a good chunk of the Spider-Man: Homecoming cast to return. This includes Tom Holland as Peter Parker and his wall-crawling alter-ego, Michael Keaton as the Vulture, Marissa Tomei as Aunt May and Zendaya as Michelle ‘MJ’ Jones. In addition, Jacob Battlalon, Tony Revolori and Hemky Madera will reprise their roles as Ned Leeds, Flash Thompson and Mr. Delmar respectively.
The movie is slated for release on July 5th 2019 in the United States and will be directed by Jon Watts.
