One California woman said her hotel stay turned into a nightmare after she woke up to ants crawling around her room, bed, belongings, and even her ears. She claimed hotel staff did not take the situation seriously when she complained. The experience quickly gained attention online, with viewers reacting to both the ants and the hotel’s reported response.

The story was shared by TikTok user wardrobewinter. The video received more than two million views, with the woman explaining what happened and showing clips from her interactions with hotel staff.

The woman said she was staying at the Anza Hotel when she woke up to find ants all around her. She said she found them around her bed and on the floor, with some even getting into her ears. After seeing ants crawling around the room, she said she tried contacting the hotel’s corporate office but claimed the call ended with someone hanging up on her.

She also went to the front desk to report the problem. According to the California woman, staff checked the room and told her that the issue was simply ants. She shared part of the interaction in her video and said she could not believe that was considered an acceptable explanation for finding bugs throughout a hotel room.

The California woman warned other people against staying at the hotel and suggested that anyone with an upcoming reservation consider canceling. She said she had packed her belongings and planned to leave rather than spend another night in the room.

California Woman Leaves Viewers Itching

The response from viewers was immediate, with many saying they would have completely lost it if they woke up to ants crawling around their bed and belongings. Some admitted that watching the video alone made them feel itchy. One commenter summed up the frustration by writing, “Just ants? It’s an infestation.”

Another part of the situation that caught viewers’ attention was the reported explanation that the ants were looking for water. People found that hard to accept, arguing that the reason the ants were there did not change the fact that they were inside a hotel room. Others pointed out that some people can have serious reactions to insect bites, making the response seem even more concerning to them.

The hotel’s name also became part of the online jokes. Several commenters started referring to it as the “Antza Hotel,” while others joked that the woman’s warning was enough to make them cancel their own reservations.

Some viewers claimed they had stayed at the same hotel and encountered other bugs, including wasps, bees, and roaches. Those were individual commenters’ accounts and were not independently confirmed.

Others took the situation more seriously, criticizing the way the California woman said she was treated and questioning why the hotel did not appear to offer a better solution. For many viewers, the main issue was simple: they did not want to pay for a hotel room only to discover that they had also booked an all-you-can-eat ant buffet.

At least the ants had one thing going for them: they apparently found the room’s water supply before the guest did.
