A California woman said she was beyond livid after a random man walked up behind her and smacked her on the bottom while she was minding her business outside a concert in San Diego.
The woman, who goes by @julesbbg_ on Instagram, posted a video showing her confronting the man and later explaining what had happened. Her story has since spread across social media, where many viewers were equally disturbed by the stranger’s behavior.
According to the woman, she had been standing outside reading a book while waiting for her sister to come out of a My Chemical Romance concert when the stranger approached her from behind. She claimed he suddenly “grabbed and smacked” her bottom.
Rather than let him get away with it, she immediately called him out while filming his face. The woman asked him why he thought it was acceptable to put his hands on her in that manner. The man acknowledged that what he did was not okay, but the video never shows him apologize. She said she ultimately turned the man over to security and then left the scene.
After the video was first uploaded on Instagram, popular content creator Michael McWhorter, AKA TizzyEnt, reposted the clip on TikTok. TizzyEnt is known online for drawing attention to incidents involving misconduct, and he asked his followers to help identify the man.
Viewers’ Reactions to California Woman’s Video
Many people on TikTok were shocked and outraged by the man’s behavior, with one netizen calling it “genuinely insane.” Another wondered, “What is wrong with him??!!” A third said, after watching the clip, that “he doesn’t look sorry at all.” A fourth added, “She should get him charged for assault.”
Some viewers thought the man had been drinking based on his demeanor in the video. However, they maintained that it would not excuse his actions if that were the case. “Drunk or sober it’s always best to keep your hands to yourself,” one commenter remarked. Another chimed in, “If you can’t drink without assaulting someone you shouldn’t be drinking at all.”
Some also speculated that the man could have been recording the woman because of the way his phone was positioned against his chest. “By the way he’s holding his phone, he’s also filming her as she’s ranting is [sic] confronting him. This guy is creepy,” one person claimed. Someone else agreed, writing, “Thought so too, who holds a phone like that.”
Still, a few people did not appear particularly bothered by the man’s actions. “I’m failing to see a problem,” a comment read. Another said, “He seems quite a bit hammered. Is this spread it on the internet worthy? No.”
As of this writing, there has been no additional information on what happened to the man afterward, whether the incident was reported to police, or whether he will face any consequences over the incident.
