Despite what people say, we all love relationship drama. It is somewhat amusing to see what is happening with other people, especially when some situations make it to the news. Well, something like that happened recently in Miami-Dade, Florida, where one woman got arrested after trying to extort a man. Yet, the story goes deeper than that, as this lady discovered the man was cheating on her. Instead of dumping him, she allegedly asked for $20k and $5k more, and reportedly even threatened him with sending sensitive pictures to the other woman.

While the situation blew up on Friday, several news outlets in Florida have started covering it, as there were more details that the people didn’t know about.

It all started when Nathalie Rodriguez Gonzalez, who was working as a waitress at a restaurant, started dating the now “victim.” She eventually discovered this man was dating another woman, and instead of breaking up with him, she decided to extort the man.

At first, she allegedly demanded $20,000 and threatened to send sensitive pictures of the two of them to another woman. Rodriguez then reportedly asked for an additional $5,000. While the victim may initially have hoped it was an empty threat, authorities say Rodriguez ultimately followed through, allegedly sending the sensitive images to his business partner and escalating the situation further.

Rodriguez was then arrested on Friday on charges of threatening and extortion, and is now held at a detention center with a $7,500 bond.

Believe it or not, this sparked some sort of strange debate on Reddit, with some saying Rodriguez acted poorly when trying to extort the man, while others made fun of the situation and said they would never date their waitress.

Ironically, people focused a lot on the waitress, saying that the man’s first mistake was to date the one serving her food, with others even comparing that woman to waitresses from other establishments.

“This is why you don’t date your waitress.“

“They don’t make them like they used to; they used to have values.“

The truth is that many found the above comments extremely misogynistic, with some people siding with the woman, saying the authorities should release her.

“Free my sis, she didn’t do anything wrong.“

At the time of writing, it is unclear whether Rodriguez has posted bond or remains in custody. Either way, what allegedly began as a relationship dispute over infidelity has now escalated far beyond a messy breakup, leaving Rodriguez facing serious legal consequences over what authorities say happened next.
