A New York woman does the unthinkable when she believes a school bus driver is in the wrong. She decides to take matters into her own hands and physically blocks the school bus from leaving while kids are just trying to go home for the day.
TikTok user Straight_from_yard, SFY, thinks a local school has “beef” with her as she records herself in front of a school bus. She’s parked in the middle of the road, literally stopping them from moving and getting around her. This TikToker claims she’s parked in the middle of the road because the “school bus driver recklessly drove down the block.” Then, she claims the school bus driver saw her coming but didn’t move over for her.
As she’s blocking the school bus, she walks off to the side, arguing the driver had enough space to pull over. She walks up to the door of the school bus and points out the driver, saying he “chose not to pull over to the side.”
The New York woman continues to block the bus, complaining that she’ll have to be the one to reverse for the school bus. She calls the bus driver a “bully” and says he “knows the cops will side with him.” As if anyone will take her side, she asks her audience if anyone has had the same issue because she has “had it” with these bus drivers.
The New York Driver Gets Roasted by Viewers Online
Despite having nearly 3,000 comments, SFY saw very little support for her predicament in the comment section of her TikTok video. In fact, many of her viewers found she was entirely in the wrong. “How can I be a victim today?” one commenter wrote, mocking SFY.
Another commenter took the matter a little too seriously, saying, “Holding kids hostage is a crime!” SFY fought with the viewer in the thread that followed, firing back, “If it was a crime, the police should’ve showed up.”
Even a commenter claiming to be a cop came on to correct her, saying, “Cop here. School bus is in the right. Safety of the children comes first and they have the right of way.”
It’s safe to say the school bus driver was well within his right to park in the middle of the road. Parking along the road only risks the driver getting trapped waiting for traffic. That’s one of the reason school buses have stop signs, so the driver can halt traffic for a moment without resorting to sidewalk parking.
