Florida Man’s Emergency Landing of Flying Machine Leads to Argument With Park Cop: ‘Dude he wasn’t even listening and just wanted to argue’

All that over an emergency?

A Florida man had recorded himself having a lot of fun soaring through the air via flying machine, consisting of a parachute and fan. Unfortunately, upon landing he was suddenly accosted by park security in a pickup truck over his emergency landing.

After taking some gnarly collapses I decided to land out this one. And have a nice altercation. #arguement #landing #strom #miami #flying

TikTok user Chuck_wright posted the altercation on his social media. It shows him taking off from Wakeboard Marina, flying about for a while, and then touching down in a completely different field. That was when park security showed up to harass him about his landing. “Good morning, you cannot do this. You cannot land,” the man says.

Chuck explains to the officer, “When you have an emergency, you can land wherever you need to. There’s a storm.” He tells the officer he took off in a completely different area and wasn’t intentionally flying in the park.

The officer completely disregards everything Chuck is telling him. He states, “You have to land somewhere else. You cannot land here on our property.”

The officer continues to argue with him, despite the fact Chuck tells the man he didn’t want to die and so he landed for his own safety. According to Chuck, the man doesn’t understand how “emergencies work.” He points out the storm to the officer and then ends the video.

For the most part, people in the comment section of Chuck’s TikTok video agreed he not only handled the situation as best as anyone could, but felt he made the right decision. Other more knowledgeable viewers shared regulations that Chuck perfectly adhered to.

“Dude he wasn’t even listening and just wanted to argue,” wrote one user, commenting on the park cop’s unwillingness to hear Chuck’s reasonable explanation. Another argued the man was “on a power trip.”

Although some agreed with Chuck, one user felt he overexplained. “I don’t understand how you people have the energy to argue. I wouldve said it was an emergency landing and walked away and ignored him.”

According to one viewer, Chuck followed FAA regulations. “Under Part 103 and 14 CFR 91, you are completely in the clear and that guy is absolutely wrong.”

In other words, Chuck was manning a lightweight craft and due to the storm, he was well within his rights to make an emergency landing, even if it’s private property.
