A New York mom sparked controversy after she posted a TikTok listing three things she thinks make for bad parents. This video received a lot of backlash, causing the woman to post a part two explaining her opinion. In it, she states, “Whoever that video offended, I don’t care. Clearly you’re the problem.” This has received over 102,000 views and over 8,000 likes.
In this video, she calls out three things that, in her opinion, “make you an [expletive] mom.” She elaborates that by a dirty house, she means when “you can’t walk on the floors barefoot because your floors are so gross.” Secondly, when a mom chooses a man over her children: “You shouldn’t be a mom, because your kids come first.” Thirdly, the New York mom calls out people letting just anyone watch their children. She explains, “You know how many weirdos you are, and you just pawn your kid out like that?” This had over 120,000 views, and the comments have since been turned off.
In Part 2, the New York mom addresses the backlash by stating, “Clearly the shoe fits for a lot of you. I will not take back what I said. I stand on it.” She clarifies the three things she listed in the original video. For example, when talking about a dirty house, she’s referring to things such as dirty diapers that have been there for days. The woman argues, “Lived in and filthy are two completely different things.” For number two, she explains she means choosing a new partner over your children. Third, she states that she didn’t mean trustworthy friends and family, or licensed daycares. She is referring to: “Asking random people that you barely know to watch your children? That is not okay.”

Part 2 of the video seems to have gone over better with parents online, with many in the comments agreeing with her statements. Several specifically mentioned letting strangers watch your children as an issue. One says, “It actually blows my mind how many times I’ve seen moms ask on Facebook who would be available to watch their children.” Another states, “The fact that people disagree with this is crazy.” A third commenter says, “I thought I was on the wrong side when you said the house needs to be clean, but your example of a dirty house- I’m sorry, THERE ARE PEOPLE LIVING LIKE THAT??”
Others in the comments point out, “Becoming a mom made me SO JUDGMENTAL and honestly, if you aren’t judging bad parents, YOU’RE PROBABLY ONE OF THEM.” Another adds, “I was ready to fight you because whenever I hear ‘[expletive] mom and I stand by it,’ it’s always ridiculous crap.
