Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett Torched by Fellow Democrats After Talarico Endorsement Snub: ‘Petty and Selfish’

Don’t mess with Texas

Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett is facing another wave of criticism from Democrats after leaving U.S. Senate nominee James Talarico off her latest endorsement list.

A Kalshi Politics post on X highlighted Talarico’s absence after Crockett announced support for 14 Texas candidates through her FIRE PAC. The slate included Democrats seeking city, county, and state legislative offices, but no statewide candidates.

Talarico defeated Crockett in the March Democratic Senate primary, receiving 53% of the vote to Crockett’s 45%. Crockett urged Democrats to unite behind the party’s nominees afterward, but she has avoided directly endorsing or campaigning alongside her former rival.

Crockett has said she intends to concentrate on down-ballot contests. That explanation has not satisfied Democrats who believe defeating Republican Ken Paxton and capturing a Senate seat should take priority over lingering primary resentment.

Texas Democrats Feel Betrayed

Replies beneath the post were dominated by users accusing Crockett of putting personal feelings ahead of the party.

“I am so sorry I ever liked this woman for one minute,” one commenter wrote. “She is petty and very selfish because she should be endorsing Talarico for the Democratic Party if nothing else.”

Another tagged the Democratic National Committee and claimed Crockett had shown voters her “true colors” over the previous six months. The commenter called her behavior selfish and argued that she should not receive a future leadership position within the party.

Crockett’s recent congressional recognition of singer Chris Brown also resurfaced in the replies. One user noted that Crockett would not endorse the candidate who defeated her but was willing to honor Brown, who pleaded guilty in 2009 to assaulting Rihanna. Crockett presented Brown and Usher with Congressional Record recognition during their September concert in Arlington, Texas.

“She won’t endorse the candidate she lost against, but she’ll endorse Chris Brown,” the commenter wrote.

Crockett did not present a comprehensive endorsement slate, and Talarico was not the only statewide Democrat omitted. Still, many online Democrats viewed his absence as part of a larger pattern.

With Talarico attempting to flip a Texas Senate seat Democrats have not won since 1988, Crockett’s continued distance is giving frustrated party members one more reason to question whether the bitter primary fight is truly over.
