A confrontation between a group of Black students and an Oklahoma restaurant owner has sparked debate online after the students alleged that the owner accused them of stealing a $3 drink. The students said the incident escalated when they requested a refund for their food and the owner allegedly refused. The group later described the experience as racist.
The video was shared on one of the students’ TikTok accounts, @kewiii3, where it received several thousand views. The post drew attention from viewers who debated the students’ claims, the owner’s alleged actions, and how a dispute over a $3 drink escalated to the point that police were called.
According to the person recording, a woman she identified as the owner of Sam’s Southern Eatery accused the group of taking the drink. The students denied it, with the person behind the camera saying, “We didn’t steal anything!” They then asked for a refund for their food, but the owner allegedly refused.
The dispute reportedly continued until both sides agreed that the students would pay for the drink in exchange for a refund. However, the poster claimed the owner still refused to return their money after her sister paid for it. A customer also defended the group during the argument and told the owner they had not stolen anything.
The poster also claimed that the woman brought a dog into the restaurant’s kitchen, which the students questioned as a possible health and safety issue. Police were eventually called as the disagreement continued.
The student later described the incident as racist and warned others against visiting the establishment, writing, “DO NOT COME HERE, they are WEIRDOS!”
Oklahoma Restaurant Dispute Gets Messy Online
The video quickly drew comments from viewers who had different opinions about the confrontation. Some immediately sided with the students, while others questioned how a disagreement over a $3 drink escalated into a situation involving police.
One commenter claimed they had previously worked at the Oklahoma restaurant and said they had “horror stories” from their time there. Other viewers said they were surprised the dispute continued after the students allegedly paid for the drink.
Several commenters questioned why the owner did not simply refund the food and end the disagreement. Others said the students appeared calmer than they would have been in the same situation and argued that they would not have left without getting their money back.
The racism allegation also became a major point of debate. Some viewers agreed with the students and criticized the alleged treatment they received, while others argued that an accusation of theft does not automatically make a dispute racist.
Meanwhile, other commenters mocked the Oklahoma restaurant and joked about how quickly the disagreement spiraled. What started with a $3 drink allegedly ended with a refund dispute, accusations of racism, and a police response, turning a relatively small disagreement into a much larger confrontation.
