Since the Mounts Update (Update 8) for Steal An Egg in Roblox, players can transform their pets into mounts by feeding them a Shooting Star. Unfortunately, they are not handed out like candy, so you’ll either have to be a little patient and work for them or buy them from the Robux shop. If you want them for free, though, look no further than the Star Drop event.
How To Get Free Shooting Stars in Steal An Egg
When it turns night in-game, there’s a slight chance the server you’re on will have a Star Drop event. When this special activity is triggered, a Star will fall somewhere in a random biome. Your goal is to head out and find it, but you will need to hurry before nighttime ends.
It should be noted that the in-game day-night cycle lasts around five minutes; however, this doesn’t mean there will be a Star Drop event every five minutes. Not to mention, you need to have been in the server since the beginning of the in-game day. You can’t simply join during Star Drop and attempt to get a free Star.
The Star Drop Event Has Limitations
While it might seem tempting to server hop as a means for a better chance to find the event being active, this isn’t the case. The Star Drop event is server-specific and requires players to be in the server at the start of the day. In other words, patience and perseverance on the same server are key.
Once you have a Mount Star, return home and choose one of your pets to be your ride. Equip the Star and feed it, after which you’ll confirm its transformation; this can’t be reversed!
Next, check the equipped-pets menu and press the Ride button for the pet that you just fed the Star. Keep in mind the pet can still earn you money if you place it back into a pen.

- Wait for a rare Star Drop to trigger
- Go find that fallen Star in a random biome
- Return home and feed the Star to a pet of your choice
