A Texas woman took to social media to share how upsetting it was to see an elderly man in a back brace still working.
TikTok user Brittzdabomb, Brittnay, witnessed the older man get out of his vehicle with several Domino’s pizzas in tow and head out for a delivery. In the caption of her video, she tags Domino’s and says, “Retire him 😭”
While out for lunch, Brittnay says she the elderly man (who is identified as Leonard) could “barely move.” Brittnay notes the back brace, “You can tell he’s in pain.”
She laments the fact “senior citizens” aren’t given enough to live comfortably—that they have to resort to getting a job still. “I don’t know what his situation is, obviously. I don’t know if he’s disabled, I don’t know if he’s retired, but obviously he doesn’t have enough for himself that he’s still out here delivering pizzas.”
Brittnay shows a clip of Leonard scooting slowly into the nearby school office. He’s carrying several orders and, yes, he is wearing a back brace. This prompts Brittnay to join the conversation online and start a GoFundMe in the comments.

Viewers show their support and solidarity online
Unsurprisingly, dozens of commenters offered support on Brittnay’s TikTok video, even if only to get more eyes on it. Several viewers were disgusted by how the U.S. treats its senior citizens.
“And they keep raising the retirement age up!” one viewer wrote. How is anyone supposed to enjoy their ‘golden years’ when they’re out working a side hustle? “Some barely making it with the monthly check they get. Everything is so expensive,” another said.
Others recognized Leonard and did what they could to help. “I’ve seen him before at night and it absolutely tore me up inside. I rushed to my purse and had my son run more cash out to his car,” a viewer claimed. Another shared they felt the same way and that they’ve “seen him in my neighborhood.”
Very few suggested Leonard may not be hurting for cash at all, but rather delivering pizzas to “feel active” or because “being retired gets boring.”
Brittnay also responds in the comments, requesting more details on Leonard “…so we can get him a GoFundMe and try to help him a little!” Another comment from her confirms she made one and that she’s “waiting to hear from his coworker” so he can benefit from it ASAP.
