Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker faced personal attacks over a Halloween video in which he called two Trump allies “bootlickers.” A staff member handed him a folder containing photographs of political figures and asked him to react. The video drew criticism on X, where some commenters mocked his appearance and accused him of hypocrisy.
The governor began by calling Darren Bailey a “Donald Trump bootlicker,” saying that was the best way to describe him. He then dismissed Aaron Delmar, saying, “No one knows who he is.” When Donald Trump’s photograph appeared, Pritzker called him a “misogynist, racist, homophobe, xenophobe.”
He continued his criticism with JD Vance, whom he described as a “soon-to-be former vice president.” He also accused Stephen Miller of “genuinely ruining the country” and attacking people. Turning to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, he predicted Abbott would lose to Gina Hinojosa. He urged Texans to support Hinojosa and James Talarico.
The final photograph showed Marco Rubio, whom Pritzker also labeled a “bootlicker.” He accused Rubio of abandoning his previous opposition to Trump and selling out his values. “He used to stand up against Donald Trump,” the governor said. He then described Rubio as “one of the MAGA minions.”
JB Pritzker’s Halloween Video Draws Personal Criticism and Support
The discussion took a personal turn as some viewers challenged Pritzker’s remarks, while others welcomed his criticism of Republican figures.
“What’s worse, being a bootlicker or a compulsive eater?” one commenter asked. Another questioned his conduct as governor, writing, “This is immature. To be a person in a position of power and then to call someone a bootlicker!!!”
Others shifted attention to Illinois residents’ expenses. “Our power bills should be in your stupid folder,” one user wrote. Another targeted his political future, stating, “The scariest thing is you remaining in office.”
However, some viewers supported the video. “Excellent. You should do one everyday,” one response read.
Another welcomed his comments about the Texas governor’s race, writing, “SO glad you’re optimistic about Gina. She won’t sell Texas to Musk.”
The discussion offered no resolution to the criticism over political insults or the concerns about Illinois costs.
