Prince Harry’s alleged desire to “reconcile” with King Charles and the rest of the Royal Family feels like a far-fetched ambition that’s seen little progress over the years. The estranged father-son relationship has also drawn nothing but public criticism, and any small hope of the two making up has been met with doubt. Still, Prince Harry holds on to that hope and has even shared it with his wife, Meghan Markle, according to The Blast. In fact, insiders say he’s promised Meghan this reconciliation with his family.
Needless to say, things haven’t worked out as Prince Harry hoped, leaving Meghan Markle allegedly “frustrated” with his efforts. However, neither the Duke nor the Duchess of Sussex has confirmed these claims, as they did openly about positive remarks with their former Head of Nonfiction’s departure from Archewell. That said, Harry is said to be disappointed that his family didn’t receive a “warm welcome” from King Charles, and Meghan is likewise disappointed in Harry for not keeping his promise to her.
Harry Blames William
Insiders claim Prince Harry’s frustration is also aimed at his older brother, Prince William, with the wayward son blaming the crown’s heir for the lack of progress in the family reconciliation. This wouldn’t be too far-fetched an idea, considering reports also allege that William was involved in former Prince Andrew losing his title as a royal. Still, there hasn’t been any independent confirmation as to whether William is directly involved in the Royal Family drama.
As expected from users in r/SaintMeghanMarkle, Redditors find it hard to believe Prince Harry could ever follow through on his promise to Meghan to reconnect with the family. “Maybe it’s time for these two silly kids to move on,” sighed a commenter. “Just like when she promised him all the fortune and fame in world after they trashed his family and took off to Hollywood!” exclaimed a second.
“To think either one of these two would think they’d be welcomed back with open arms after all they’ve said and done to both the RF and the UK is mind boggling,” remarked a third. “Why would they think Charles would welcome them?” questioned a fourth. Still, despite what critics say, if Harry’s history is anything to go by, he’s going to hold fast to the belief that he’ll someday reconcile with his father and continue telling the media the same.
