PlayStation 4’s upcoming exclusive Days Goneย has been delayed. Originallyย scheduled for a February release, developer Bend Studio has decided to move the game’s release to April 26, 2019. This is, unfortunately, the second delay for the upcoming action game. Initially scheduled for 2018, it was announced in March that it would be pushed into a 2019ย release window.
The decision to push the release back stems from the desiredย February date being crowded. With games such as Anthem, Metro Exodus, Crackdown 3, and Trials Rising all releasing in the same month, Bend Studio have decided to take the time to further polish the game.
The delay was announced in a post by PlayStation Blog; aside from Days Gone, the post also states that Dรฉracinรฉ will release November 6, 2018, and Everybody’s Golf VR is coming Spring 2019.ย
Days Goneย is an upcoming open-world action game, exclusive to the PlayStation 4. Developed by Bend Studio, the studio behind the Syphonย Filterย franchise, Days Gone is their first console game since 2010’s Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow. Set in a post-apocalyptic open-world, players will have to deal with hordes of zombie-like creatures known as “Freakers”.
Debuting at E3 2016; Days Gone was announced with an impressive trailer, the trailer showed the protagonistย Deacon St. John in a battle to survive against an impressive horde of enemies. Later trailers for Days Gone have revealed more enemy types and various play styles including stealth mechanics and vehicles.
Days Gone will be joining the PlayStation’s other post-apocalyptic game: The Last of Us Part 2. Developed by Naughty Dog, The Last of Us Part 2ย is the highly anticipated sequel to the highly praised PlayStation 3 exclusive, and is slated for a 2019 release, although an exact date is still unknown. 2019 is looking to be a good time for PlayStation exclusives.
