If you are even remotely interested in seeing how the Avengers saga wraps up (and honestly, who isn’t?) then be prepared to be in for the long haul. As it stands, Avengers 4 will be clocking in at 3 hours, making it the longest Marvel Cinematic Universe film yet.

According to THR, Joe Russo confirmed the film’s runtime while promoting his new Los Angeles bar Duello. The Avengers 4 co-director stated that “the running time on Avengers 4 is currently sitting right at three hours. We’ll see if that holds.”.

Russo was then asked about where Avengers 4 currently stands in terms of post-production to which Russo replied, “we’re about halfway through the editing process.”.

Joe Russo then surprisingly went into a little more detail regarding the VFX. “We’re really just scratching the surface on our VFX shots. There are more than 3,000 VFX shots in the movie; those require a lot of time and thought and energy and effort, and we’re very early in the phase of getting VFX done. We’ve just started work with Alan Silvestri on the score, and we’re still editing picture at this point.”.

Avengers: Infinity War, which released earlier this year, is the previous holder of longest MCU film at 2 hours and 29 minutes.

So far, not much is known about Avengers 4, not even its official title. Much of the film is shrouded in mystery and only fan theories can keep us guessing as to what the future holds for our beloved Avengers, both living and deceased(?). Public consensus sees the trailer being released this November as the trailer for Infinity War was released last November. However, there have been rumors that the Russos claim we will not see a glimpse of anything until sometime in the beginning of 2019. Hopefully, that is not the case, and we will at least get a title for the film soon.

Are you excited to see a 3-hour conclusion for Avengers 4? Sound off in the comments below.
