Earlier this week, Marvel Studios released the second trailer for its next film, Captain Marvel. Now that’s out of the way, fans eagerly await the trailer for another one of the most highly-anticipated movies of 2019, Avengers 4.
Fans are dying to find out what’s next for the Avengers franchise but most importantly, they’re hoping to discover what the official name of the film is. Collider’s own Steve Weintraub dropped this Tweet on what could be in store for the Avengers 4 trailer:
Already breaking my rule from two days ago.
Hearing the first #Avengers4 trailer will not reveal the title.
Want to be clear I am not 100% on this. Which is why it is a tweet and not a story on @Collider
We should know if my source was right or wrong soon… pic.twitter.com/p91guVzJZm

As Weintraub stated, it’s best to take this news with a grain of salt. As it stands right now, we don’t even know if a trailer for Avengers 4 will release anytime soon.
If true, it wouldn’t be surprising from Marvel’s perspective. Avengers: Infinity War featured the most shocking moment in the history of the MCU and you can tell those working at Marvel Studios have enjoyed egging on the theories surrounding the title of the next film.
Or, it is entirely possible that the title of Avengers 4 could possibly spoil something that happens in Captain Marvel. The two will have to be linked somehow and with Carol Danvers playing such a huge role in the Avengers sequel, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to believe in this theory.
The main predictions surrounding the title of the upcoming film are Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Annihilation, and Avengers: Assemble. The Russo brothers (who directed both Infinity War and Avengers 4), have stated that no one has correctly guessed the exact title as of yet.
No matter the name, Avengers 4 will be the definitive conclusion to Avengers: Infinity War and most likely, our original group of Avengers. It appears that the MCU will live on with a new generation of heroes with Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel leading the charge in future films. With the acquisitions of FOX, Marvel Studios have also gotten their hands on the X-Men, Deadpool, and the Fantastic Four characters. So, there’s no need to worry about the MCU’s future without the original crew.
Avengers 4 will hit theaters May 3rd, 2019.
