This article is over 6 years old and may contain outdated information.

We’ve all known that one kid who sits at the back off the class, looking over at various desks and copying the work of all the other pupils. Some of you may even have done it yourselves. Well, not me. Ahem. Anyway, everyone knows that if you are going to plagiarize the work of others you at least have to change the original content enough to make it your own. And to not get caught by Mr. Sampson. Netflix seems to have missed out on this memo.

Have a quick look at the below images.

The Last of Us

I promise you I haven’t just put the same image back to back. This isn’t a spot the difference or some sort of competition. There’s no prize at the end, but thanks for playing.

The first image is from Naughty Dog’s fantastic 2013 game, “The Last of us”. The second is from the 2018 film “What Still Remains”, which has been streaming on Netflix for the last 5 months.

There are bound to be thematical similarities as the film has a post-apocalyptic theme, something that neither of the properties invented, so maybe The Last of Us is just as bad. Although there is a difference in being inspired by something and a straight up copy job. The movie poster is almost exactly the same. The way the two characters are stood, the vegetation, water, and vehicle. Even the angle is almost the same.

I’m giving Netflix the grief for this even though they didn’t actually make the movie, it’s just available on their platform, so maybe I’m being a little unfair. Either way, the similarities are staggering, regardless of who made the poster.

Hold on… is this for real? 😂 https://t.co/pXsl8sO6Ba

The similarities were noticed by Twitter user Rob Trench and the tweet even received a reply from The Last of us creator Neil Druckmann that seems to take it all in good humor. Let’s just see if the bosses at Naughty Dog have anything else to say on the matter.
