Nintendo dropped their latest edition of the Nindies Showcase today. In the 25 minute video, they revealed a number of new games with a few surprises, and a couple of already cult classics heading to Switch.

To kick things off, the Big N teased what appeared to be a strange cereal commercial; before revealing that Cuphead will be arriving on the Switch this spring. Fans of the intense, yet amazingly stylized game can jump in less than one month! Cuphead will be released under the Nindies umbrella on April 18th.

Some of the games announced will not only be re-releases and new on the console, but they’ll be Switch exclusives as well. A sure sign that this indie developer program by Nintendo is working.

One example is My Friend Pedro.ย A cool action-packed game I’ve personally had my eye on for some time now. The premise seems strange (a self-aware banana leads you on a violent adventure? Ok!), but uniqueness has always been a staple for indie games. Devolver Digital is publishing the game along with a hack-and-slash title called Katana ZERO.

One of the biggest drops from the Nindies Showcase was that the world of Zelda and Hyrule would be coming to the Switch in a whole new way. Brace Yourself Games is partnering with Nintendo to bring Link and Zelda herself to the resumed sequel of the 2015 indie hit Crypt of the Necrodancer.

Get ready to bob your head, tap your foot, and slay some monsters dungeon after dungeon with Cadence of Hyrule:

Not to miss out on the new Stranger Things 3 trailer that was released, there will also be a new game coming out day in date with the new season on Netflix. The retro-style adventure game features all your favorite characters that will allow for couch co-op using 12 different characters.

To celebrate the new announcements, Nintendo is welcoming all Switch players to join them in the indie pool with a great 30% off indie game sale!

From the wee age of 6 he made his way to a Canadian Tire, purchased a SNES for $200 in in-store credit money (Canadian Tire money for Canadians out there), and hasn't looked back! He loves the classics like Donkey Kong, Mario, and Roller Coaster Tycoon, but is deep into the new age of gaming with Heroes of the Storm, Apex Legends, and indies like Thomas Was Alone, and Mark of the Ninja.
