There’s a new game mode for Fallout 76 in the most recent patch for Bethesda’s online game. The latest update includes the Survival Mode Beta, which changes how PVP combat works and adds a few other mechanics.

While its release wasn’t well received, the developers have been releasing updates and talking with the community about their plans for future content. Fallout 76 Patch 7.5 changes the name of the original experience to Adventure while adding the Survival Beta as well.

Players in Survival Mode will automatically be hostile to others in the world. Meaning there are no restrictions against attacking anyone you come across while exploring the map. It’s become a free-for-all making it more about staying alive while exploring and completing quests.

Slap damage is gone as well, so players will immediately take full damage from each other’s attacks. You can tell who may be about to kill you and take your stuff by the way they approach you. Players with a weapon holstered may mean they are friendly, placing a yellow marker above their head. The marker will be red if a weapon is drawn.

You’ll find some weapons may have been weakened while others will be stronger. Players will also earn a 20% bonus to experience points while wandering Appalachia in Survival Mode.

Higher stakes, bigger rewards! Survival mode has now been added to #Fallout76. Do you have what it takes to stay on-top of the scoreboards?

A few other things to note are when a player dies, they’ll drop a random amount of Aid items and all their Junk. Which means you’ll have more gear to add to your overflowing pile of garbage. Fast Travel is limited to Vault 76, your C.A.M.P., Train Stations and Workshops you own. You’ll also see an added scoreboard showing where others are ranked in the world when it comes to player kills, longest life, bounty collected, and more.

More information is detailed on Bethesda’s website.
