A West Virginia funeral home worker surprised viewers online after sharing that she completed three embalmings early in the morning before heading to her regular job. Without showing anything graphic, users were amazed by the process, and some even had fun in the comments section, which helped make the video viral.

TikToker Shiloh Harding shared her embalming ventures on TikTok. She, along with her father, works at the Gatens-Harding Funeral Home, located in Poca, West Virginia. With similar content posted in the past, Shiloh revealed this time around that she had three different embalmings scheduled for the day, starting at 6:30 a.m.

“Good morning, sugar,” her father told her. “You look beautiful!“

After sneezing a couple of times, the West Virginia woman put on her gloves, scrubs, and gas mask to start the process. She started to grab a mixture of chemicals to preserve the human remains of the deceased people she was about to embalm.

Shiloh put the chemical mixture into an embalming machine, which connects to the deceased’s vascular system.

The first embalming took approximately 45 minutes. She then repeated the same chemical process with the second one, which took 44 minutes. After cleaning up the embalming table, she took care of the third individual. Although the chemical mixture wasn’t shown, she took care of business and changed into her regular clothes, not before cleaning herself up.

In total, the whole embalming session took about three hours. Shockingly, Shiloh revealed that, after all that trouble, she was “heading to work.”

“Thanks for watching!” she said as she exited the funeral home.

A Funeral Home Family, Reactions

This is not the first time Shiloh has shared embalming vlogs, as she has done so multiple times in the past, following the same structure. Her content, however, isn’t limited to just embalmings, as she also shares her day-to-day life with her family. On one occasion, she even sang “Go Rest High On That Mountain” during her great uncle’s funeral, alongside her father.

And even though this content wasn’t particularly new, it blew up. Her video was seen by close to 5 million people, liked by more than 389,000, and commented on by thousands. Her calm approach quickly inspired jokes and memes in the comment section.

“Do you take walk-ins?” one user asked. Another one suggested, “You should cover your sneezes, you don’t want them to get sick.” A third one added, “Are your patients usually still asleep when you get there that early, or are they awake already?“

The video gave viewers a rare behind-the-scenes look at funeral home work, turning an everyday task in the industry into an unexpectedly viral moment online. By the looks of it, Shiloh and her father will continue to take care of the deceased, one vlog at a time.
