We all know that the country has become divided in ways that none of us ever saw coming. Minorities are among the most affected ones ever since the Trump administration took control of the country, so it is pretty heartbreaking to see someone from a specific group support those who are constantly pushing for more divisions. To give you an example, one black MAGA supporter in Colorado was caught on camera as he hurled several racial slurs at another person, and even standing up for Trump as he did so.
The clip comes from Reddit user Jevus_himself, which shows two men getting into a fight from what seems to be a road rage situation. In it, we can see a black man who is clearly a MAGA supporter, yelling at the one recording. However, things escalate extremely quickly as he starts throwing racial slurs at the man, who appears to be Hispanic.
The racial MAGA supporter continues his rant and then says, “That’s why he’s doing what he’s doing. Why do you think Trump is doing what he’s doing?” This is referencing everything Trump has done involving ICE and the immigration crackdowns.
The victim then tells the attacker that he caught him on camera, and at this point, the racist man takes out his phone and starts recording the other man, too. The victim just continues to taunt the one inside the car, saying, “Be racist. Come on. Be racist.” But it seems that, at this moment, the black MAGA supporter realized the consequences of his actions, as he stopped throwing racial insults.
In the end, the one recording threatens the man with posting the video, and the attacker just drives away. As you can imagine, seeing a black MAGA supporter enraged several people from the black community, who quickly disowned the man.
“A black person supporting Trump is extra insane now,” commented one user.
“I know there is sometimes tension between our communities, but I know that this guy doesn’t represent many African Americans in this country who show love and have even defended our brown communities from those looking to do harm. Do not let this interaction make you believe this is the norm,” said another user.
As you can see, people are ashamed of the actions of this black MAGA supporter. While everyone is indeed free to follow whoever they want, it is pretty ironic to see someone from a minority group supporting a person whose primary task is to attack these communities—it is truly heartbreaking.
