A teaser trailer for a docuseries about the life and career of rapper and producer Kanye West premiered on YouTube last night. jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy is a four-hour, three-part documentary series coming to Netflix with over twenty years of archived material of Kanye West’s come up in the music industry.
The jeen-yuhs teaser trailer features clips of exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of intimate moments throughout Kanye Wests’ award-winning, chart-topping career, including private studio recordings, concert footage, and collaborations with some of the biggest names in hip-hop like Mos Def and Pharrell Williams.
What You Can Expect To See In Kanye West’s Documentary
jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy on Netflix is directed by film director Coodie and music video director Chike Ozah, who had the pleasure of knowing Kanye West back when the rapper had nothing but his talent, passion, and hunger to succeed. “When I first met Kanye, he was this kid that would come in this barbershop, and Kanye would come swing up there and get his haircut, but he would come with beats” explains director Coodie, “he was this kid with braces. You know this dude was talented. That was my first impression of Kanye West”.
During a recent interview on the Netflix series Director on Director, jeen-yuhs directors Coodie and Chike express that we can expect jeen-yuhs to take us on a journey of not just the growth of Kanye West’s career, but film director Coodie’s as well. With over 267 hours of footage captured over the span of 21 years, viewers will be treated to major highlights of Kanye West’s life’s work, including the first time Kanye and Jay-Z recorded a song together. Director Chike describes the films as “faith-based” documentaries and says the film will give us a real showcase of the passion, drive, and work ethic it takes to make your dreams come true.
Although Kanye West is known to be bold, outspoken, and fearless, he’s very secretive about his creative process and private life. His public appearances are rare outside of occasional interviews, so the idea of getting to see behind-closed doors Kanye is undoubtedly intriguing.
