Recently, there have been a couple of shocking news stories where people lost their lives in very dramatic ways, but these people, in particular, were millionaires—for example, the sinking of a submarine a few months ago. Now, a millionaire from Dallas, Texas, went on a hunting trip to South Africa, where a buffalo tackled and killed him. This buffalo is the same one that this millionaire was trying to hunt before the fatal incident.
In a Daily Mirror TikTok, they show how real estate executive Asher Watkins went on a safari to hunt in South Africa. However, during this trip, the Texas millionaire was tracking a buffalo, the same buffalo that rammed against Watkins and killed him. Death is always a sensitive and very difficult subject, especially for those close to the deceased. However, due to the circumstances surrounding this incident, not all internet users reacted badly or sadly to the passing of this hunter. On the contrary, many people on the various networks where the video appeared were highly excited about this event.
One of the most popular comments on the video was from Billybignutz, who, instead of worrying about the man, felt relieved, because they wrote: ‘Finally some good news, glad the buffalo is ok. ❤️’ Many users responded happily to this same idea and also to congratulate the animal. Another comment that caught my attention was from Fletcher, who wrote in anguish about the real victim: ‘That’s traumatising! Why is everyone laughing at this? The poor buffalo will need his horns cleaned 💔’. While some, or a few users, felt sorry for the man, most celebrated the imposing buffalo for saving his own life when he was not harming anyone.
The important thing here is to reflect on the fact that all of this could have been avoided. Safaris are very popular and attract a lot of tourism to sanctuaries and other natural areas in Africa. Although hunting wild animals is not a practice that everyone agrees with, especially when it involves endangered species. If this millionaire hunter had not been threatening the buffalo’s life, the story and the outcome would have been different. Against all odds, the buffalo managed to save itself and kill its attacker. It is simply nature, the survival of the fittest. Hopefully, no one else anywhere in the world will practice hunting and will be more concerned about animal conservation.
