A Plague Tale: Innocence Epic Games Store Free Games
This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information.

After a few weeks featuring a steady stream of decent, if unremarkable picks, the weekly batch of Epic Games Store free games is taking a turn for the better; much, much better. The next duo of Epic Games Store freebies includes none other than Asobo’s Studio acclaimed 2019 title A Plague Tale: Innocence.

Epic Games announced as much as this week’s batch of Epic Games Store free games – Mothergunship and Train Sim World 2 – went live earlier today. Accompanying A Plague Tale: Innocence from Thursday, August 5th is Speed Brawl. If you’ve yet to sample this poignant blend of rat-infested action-adventure survival horror stealth on PC, then now is your chance. It won’t cost you more than the time it takes to create an Epic Games Store account and claim the game.

A Plague Tale: Innocence and Speed Brawl Are Next Week’s Epic Games Store Freebies

Here’s a refresher of what A Plague Tale: Innocence has to offer, courtesy of the Epic Games Store listing:

Follow the grim tale of young Amicia and her little brother Hugo, in a heartrending journey through the darkest hours of history. Hunted by Inquisition soldiers and surrounded by unstoppable swarms of rats, Amicia and Hugo will come to know and trust each other. As they struggle to survive against overwhelming odds, they will fight to find purpose in this brutal, unforgiving world.”

And, much the same for the racing combat thrills of Speed Brawl:

Speed Brawl is a 2D combat-racer about moving fast and hitting hard! Maintain your momentum, build your combos, and unleash powerful special moves. Find your own fighting style, and assemble the finest team of brawlers ever seen. Then do it all again faster… faster… FASTER!!!”

A Plague Tale: Innocence is out now for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch (via some nifty cloud-based tech trickery), PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 with a freshly-launched update for next-gen consoles with 4K UHD, 60 FPS, and 3D audio support.
