ICE has been on the move ever since Donald Trump and Elon Musk took over from Biden and Kamala. From sweeping government regulations to DOGE budget cuts, things have been changing rapidly in just a short two months. One Trenton man was caught in ICE’s crosshairs, and for some odd reason, a world-famous chef is vouching for him and wrote to Trump trying to get him released.
The famous chef in question is world-renowned chef José Andrés, who has written to Trump pleading for the release of a Michigan man who was arrested by ICE. The man in question is Jose Guadalupe Jaimes, 55, from Trenton, Michigan, who was arrested by ICE after dropping his kid off at school. According to Detroit Free Press, ICE claims he was ordered to be removed in 2014. A post by user reader9912 in the r/Michigan Reddit post also shared the news. This is what the chef wrote to Trump on X.
Sir please release this man….Mr. Jose Jaimes is a hard working immigrant…..and please can you pass asap Immigration reform? Could be your biggest contribution to USA…..remember the immigration issue is not a problem for you to solve but an opportunity for you to seize…

Only time will tell if Trump will take this chef seriously, but considering the aggressive nature of ICE and how fast they have been treating through the country, I have my severe doubts. We will wait and see, but in the meantime, this man is still being held by ICE.
