Healthcare workers should be more compassionate, as their job involves dealing with very vulnerable people. One would expect doctors and nurses to be more humane, but the opposite is often true. That’s why a woman in Chicago was complaining about how nurses mistreat and mock patients seeking help. These nurses discriminate against patients while they defend each other for these horrible acts.
There are several other viral videos or posts of healthcare personnel acting in ways that they definitely should not act, and much less share. This one in particular comes from @freckles_g’s TikTok, where she reacted to a video of ER nurses talking badly about a homeless patient. That’s why this woman from Chicago began complaining about how nurses mistreat and mock patients. She labeled this attitude the “mean girl to nurse pipeline” because they seem to be the girls who were popular continuing their power trip. Healthcare workers must receive training to deal with “difficult” patients and have compassion for everyone equally, regardless of the conditions of their job. Also, doctors and nurses should not take advantage of this to gain visits or money.

Sadly, after that first video by @freckles_g, dozens of supposed nurses began arguing and defending each other in the comments. The worst part is that they portrayed themselves as victims, claiming that as nurses, they are unable to complain and that the system’s overload is to blame. In addition, these nurses were “fighting for their right to mock patients.” To this, OP responded that she understands that being a nurse and working in the ER is difficult, but that doesn’t give them the right. Furthermore, if the job is too difficult for these “professionals,” they can look for another career.

It is entirely understandable that the healthcare sector has problems and that the system is deficient. It is also normal for anyone to have the right to vent their frustrations. But one thing is to complain about paperwork, a project, or something like that. What is not normal is that prejudice, feeling superior, or not wanting to do their job only harms and puts someone’s life at risk. In addition, more people will start avoiding medical checkups and the ER for fear of nurses judging or ignoring them. To work in healthcare, compassion and humanity should be a requirement.
