Julio La Pine

Staff Writer

View Profile

Location: Puebla, Mexico
Expertise: Feature, news, guide, and review writing
Favorite Games & Pastimes: MMORPGs, JRPGs, Lego-building, and doing movie and anime analysis for his small YouTube channel
Experience: Julio has spent almost three years working as a games journalist, with The Nerd Stash being the site that allowed him to make a dream a reality. Currently, as a Staff Writer, he covers news, guides, and features. Lately, he’s been blessed with many opportunities to review games, including many indie titles and big AAA ones. As someone who majored in movie production with a focus on scriptwriting, working as a games journalist has allowed him to put his creative writing skills into practice, combined with his love for video games. After the busy periods of reviews and previews, he still finds time to enjoy his favorite game ever, FFXIV, and keep up with anything MMO and gacha-related, including but not limited to Honkai: Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero, and World of Warcraft.

Patrick Armstrong

Staff Writer

View Profile

Location: Maine, U.S.
Expertise: Feature and opinion writing, reviews, guides
Favorite Games & Pastimes: Dead by Daylight, Meet Your Maker, No Man’s Sky
Experience: Patrick Armstrong is an artist and indie developer exploring video games since they first wielded the Master Sword on the N64. Since then, they’ve gotten lost in open worlds, died to their own grenades in FPSs, gotten stumped by survival horror puzzles, and generally made a mess of things. Patrick has written and published over 1,000 articles, poetry, and animation scripts. Somehow, after two-and-a-half decades of gaming, they still enjoy multi-hour Quake and Morrowind retrospectives, discussions about the impact of capitalism on the gaming industry, and studying the best/worst/weirdest games around. They have strong opinions about basically everything except FNAF, which they are shockingly neutral about.
