In several states, budget cuts are either happening or being considered, such as President Trump’s proposal to slash federal funding to Washington. With mass layoffs, lack of funding, and driver shortages, it really is a recipe for disaster at so many school districts. When a Washington woman found out that a local school district was affected by budget cuts, she took action. Now, several kids rely on her to ensure they get their education.

TikToker Savanna shared a video of herself getting an old work van, which was “graciously given” to her by her husband’s work. She opens the sliding door to show the van. It needs a little work, but just a few upgrades have already made it virtually into a school bus. They added bus seats for several kids, as well as seatbelts and an overhead heater.

In total, Savanna said they put a “few hundred dollars” into the school van to get it up and running. She laughs because it looks like a “creeper van” but “it’s gonna get all these kids to school,” and that’s what’s important. Naturally, someone agreed by urging a do-gooder to “pay for this lady to get her creeper van wrapped!!!”

Near the end of the video, Savanna gets in the van and shows what a daily drive looks like. You can hear the children happily chattering as they board the van. She then pans the camera around at the last stop, showing all the children loaded in the van and waving happily on their way to school. With that overhead heater, those kids are staying warm and, as Savanna points out, won’t have to “walk a mile in the show.”

While making her stops, she also has her baby with her, chilling out as he’s strapped in his car seat. Savanna tells the children she’ll see them after school. It’s such a great example of what happens when somebody steps up for a community in need.

One commenter mentioned, “It takes a village, thank you for being that village.”

Another person said, “Protect this woman at all costs. Thank you so much for loving and taking care of your community.”

Good on her for being a good Samaritan; it doesn’t take a lot to change the course of someone’s life. And according to Savanna, she’s even started an Amazon wish list. It includes a handheld car vacuum, cleaning wipes, tissues (because kids get really snotty) and a car emergency kit. That’s the power of community!
