Agents of SHIELD: Season 3 Teaser Trailer

After the tv drought that is the summer, fans of the various DC and Marvel tv shows can rest easy knowing that most of their favourite shows will soon be back on the air. Not least of which is Marvel’s Agents of Shield.

It’s been tough…

Now entering its third season, Agents of Shield is both wonderful and frustrating. It’s wonderful because it’s a cleverly structured show that is developing an excellent cast and a deep mythology. It’s frustrating because it is ultimately subordinate to the Marvel movies. So none of the show’s original plotlines can have an impact on the movies. And because Coulson will not be appearing in any more MCU movies, that’s not going to change any time soon.

But let’s focus on the positive; the previous Agents of Shield season ended with many changes to the series status quo. From the rise of the Inhumans, to  Coulson losing an arm and many other exciting developments. And judging by the new teaser trailer for season 3, the show is only going to keep building on these moments;

[gap height=”15″]So it turns out that Skye is sporting a new haircut and is going by her birth name of Daisy now. More to the point, it appears that she will indeed be leading her own team of super-powered Shield Agents. But who are the mysterious enemies that are teased in the trailer? We’ve got plenty of candidates; The shadowy figure does look a lot like Raina and the last time we saw Ward, he was in the midst of taking control of Hydra after its leadership was killed off in season 2 and Age of Ultron.

And speaking of the MCU movies, how will the events of Captain America: Civil War impact the series? The events of Winter Soldier were basically what the plot of season 1 reveolved around.
