The most recent TV spot for the upcoming Ahsoka series has revealed the return of Anakin Skywalker and it looks like the series will be heading back in time to the days of the Clone Wars. The relationship between Anakin and Ahsoka is considered one of the highlights of the acclaimed Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series and fans have been waiting a long time to see the two interact in live action.
Anakin Skywalker Returns in Ahsoka Series
The TV spot was first posted to the official Star Wars X account and sees Hayden Christensen return to reprise the role of Anakin Skywalker for the Ahsoka series. While we don’t get any new footage of Anakin, we do hear a voiceover as he warns a young Ahsoka of the perils that lie ahead of her in the Clone Wars.
Star Wars fans have long held onto hope that they could see Hayden Christensen decked out in Anakin’s Clone Wars armor, which is now considered to be the character’s most iconic look. It’s too early to tell whether Anakin will have a more substantial role in Ahsoka or if his appearances will strictly be regulated to flashback scenes. The last time Ahsoka came face to face with her former master, he had already fallen to the dark side and had become Darth Vader, resulting in a heart-breaking duel between the two in Star Wars Rebels.
There’s also excitement over seeing Christensen once again reprise the role of Anakin in the Ahsoka series. At one point he was reviled by the Star Wars fandom for his portrayal of the Chosen One. As with most aspects of the Prequel Trilogy though, fans seem to have a newfound appreciation and adoration for Christensen.
What to Expect from Ahsoka Series
The Ahsoka series takes place after the events of Return of the Jedi and will follow her as she investigates a dangerous new threat that could threaten the entire galaxy. Along the way, she reunites with the Ghost crew from Star Wars Rebels as they continue the hunt for Ezra Bridger following his disappearance.

Also returning is Star Wars Rebels’ big bad, Grand Admiral Thrawn, once again played by Lars Mikkelsen. It’s thought that Ahsoka will take the first steps in converging the Star Wars Disney Plus shows into a massive event film that will adapt Timothy Zahn’s beloved novel, Heir to the Empire.
