A bad move

Usually, we expect political figures, especially those running for the highest office in a state, to uphold the highest standards in communication, spelling, and more. However, there are some cases where some of these candidates seem to lack a few of these skills, which confuses citizens about whether they are fit to run for Governor. One of these situations occurred in Alabama, where several residents discovered that the gubernatorial candidate, Will Santivasci, had uploaded a bio to his official website riddled with spelling mistakes.

How many grammatical errors can you find in the bio of a man running for governor?

Not long ago, a Redditor published a screenshot from Will Santivasci’s official website, showing the About page, which, as you can see, is riddled with spelling mistakes. You can take a look at the website here.

Normally, this wouldn’t cause much commotion among some people, but, as many Redditors put it, Santivasci is running for Governor in Alabama, so many residents thought this page was highly unprofessional for someone seeking the highest office in the state.

If you take a look at the website, you can observe some clear spelling mistakes, such as a lack of capitalization and punctuation. Many Redditors note that this looks particularly bad for the candidate, as it is up on his official website.

Alabama Residents React to The Messy Website

As you can imagine, this website, especially the About page, raised a lot of eyebrows, with several Redditors from Alabama sharing some thoughts on the lack of basic punctuation skills.

“At least it’s obviously not AI…“

“How in the world did this get published?? There is literally no excuse for such a poorly written bio. I can’t even blame poor educational standards on this because it seems like any basic word processor would’ve corrected a lot of these errors.“

A few others, however, believe this is the fault of Alabama’s public education system and said schools should focus on teaching grammar properly.

“It just tells me that Alabama needs to put grammar back in schools…“

“This tracks with Alabama’s educational prowess.“

In the end, it seems this hurt Santivasci’s reputation, who, according to Redditors, is not doing so well in the race. Many claim that Tuberville is at the lead, at least on the Republican side, but the elections are still a month away. Yet, as many say, Santivasci should address this and fix some clear, basic grammar mistakes that would make the “About” look a bit better.
