Oftentimes, mundane errands feel forced and can often be boring. However, other times they’re full of mystery and a little adventure. One Alabama woman recently found that grocery shopping turned into a confusing, yet amusing, ordeal that she still hasn’t solved. A trip to her local Sam’s Club left her with plenty of questions, and even a few conspiracy theories.
The Alabama shopper called her experience a “top tier Sam’s Club experience,” when she whipped out her phone to record what she found when returning to her car in the parking lot. The woman, named Katelyn, revealed that she went shopping in the store. But when she and her partner returned to their vehicle, strange groceries were already waiting in the back seat.
There were boxes of chips, some juice boxes, and even a rotisserie chicken. “We just got to our car at Sam’s and there’s somebody else’s stuff in our car,” she started off the TikTok video. “I’m sure it was a mistake,” her partner can be heard saying.
Alabama Woman Finds Mystery Groceries In Her Unlocked Car
Later, Katelyn came back to the camera to explain what happened. She says that they went back inside the store and told customer service what had happened. Store employees then told them that the couldn’t take the groceries back, and one even suggested that they just go home with the free food.
However, Katelyn didn’t stop there. She got a hold of the person who was working at the grocery curbside pickup to see if somehow the groceries she found in her car were linked to an online order. However, nothing was found. Later, a manager told them that they could absolutely not take the groceries home with them, and they were forced to return the food.
While Katelyn wasn’t upset about not getting the free goods, she did say that she and other members of her family were suspicious that the manager simply wanted the free food for themself.
Another theory was that because Katelyn’s car was left unlocked while she was in the store, someone put the groceries in her vehicle, mistaking it for their own. Then, when they returned their cart to the store, they returned to their own car and drove off without their groceries.
Many on TikTok were happy that Katelynn didn’t take home the food, claiming that anything could have been tampered with. “I legit would have been scared to take it home. Maybe I’m just negative or think negatively, but I would have been worried people did something to it!” one person commented. “My mind goes to poison,” another stated. “Mine would totally have too eventually!” Katelyn replied.
It appears that Katelyn will never know how the mystery groceries got into her car. However, the Alabama Sam’s Club manager may have just gotten away with some free food after the mix-up.
