Every game handles how they craft their armor and weapon stats differently, and Starfield is no exception. While some may have rather broad stats that only include overall durability, Bethesda goes more in-depth with the armor and weapon stats. Starfield features multiple types of damage resistance: physical, energy, and electromagnetic, and loads of damage types to avoid. With dangers like thermal, airborne, corrosive, and radiation damage, knowing all Armor and Weapon stats in Starfield is essential.

Bethesda puts an in-depth spin on damage types and equipment stats in Starfield. Rather than having the typical few broad ranges of damage types, there are quite a few different needs for damage resistance within the game. Luckily for us, quite a few types of equipment offer Damage Resistance, including suits, packs, helmets, and apparel. We will use our armor to protect us and even our clothing.

Within Starfield, Damage Resistance lowers the damage you take from enemy attacks. All equipment types can be put on by accessing the Data Menu and heading into the Inventory tab, which can be found at the bottom right-hand side of the menu. You can access all your Spacesuits, Packs, Helmets, and Apparent through their specific tabs.

Types of Damage Resistance provided by Armor in Starfield

There are three primary types of Damage Resistance, but there are loads of other environmental damage types to watch out for. Below is a list of the pain types of Damage Resistance in Starfield.

  • Physical Damage Resistance
    • Protects against material damage types such as bullet, explosive, and melee damage
  • Energy Damage Resistance
    • Protects against non-physical weapon fire from laser and particle weapons
  • Electromagnetic Damage Resistance
    • Protects against weapons like the Novablast Disruptor, among other electrical disrupter weapons

Now let’s take a look at the other types of damage you should look out for in your gameplay:

  • Thermal Damage
  • Radiation Damage
  • Corrosive Damage
  • Airborne Damage

It’s wise to be aware of the different damage types looming around each corner. With a proper knowledge of what you’ll be up against, you can plan accordingly and protect yourself efficiently.

As far as we can tell, there are two main types of weapons available within the game. There are Ranged and Melee weapons. Ranged weapons are guns that require varying types of ammunition to function and are able to take down enemies from a distance. Melee weapons are used for close combat and require you to physically manipulate the weapon to deal damage, such as knives or swords. Here are the different weapon stats to look out for:

  • Rarity
  • Ammunition Type
  • Mag Size
  • Rounds
  • ROF
  • Range
  • ACC
  • Mass

She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
