Throughout Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you can find a ton of collectibles scattered across the land. Whether they be little leafy beings that go “ya haha” or creatures from across the caves and caverns of Hyrule, if you’re into gathering things, this game has your fix. We’ll summarize here all the Bubbulfrog locations in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, including where you can get Bubbul Gems rewards from each one you find. They may be elusive, but with a little guidance and patience, you can accumulate the rewards and collect Bubbulfrogs consecutively.

What Are Bubbul Gem Rewards in Tears of the Kingdom?

Bubbulfrog locations in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom are usually caves, or the Depths.

One of the rarest creatures to be found in all of Hyrule is the Bubbulfrog. Despite appearing throughout the game in caves, they can be elusive to obtain. Bubbulfrogs appear throughout the Depths, so if you happen to spot one, go after it if you can. Once you defeat these creatures, they drop a Bubbul Gem. These precious Bubbul Gem rewards are what make the Bubbulfrog worth chasing. They’re a new type of currency, one that is the only way for Link to obtain certain items, such as the Bokoblin Mask.

If you like sneaking up on enemies with items like the Bokoblin Mask, then accumulating as many Bubbul Gem rewards in Tears of the Kingdom is the most surefire way to get these important items as quickly as you can. You can also trade Bubbul Gems for rare monster parts, which can make them great for upgrading whatever weapon or shield that requires a buff. If you’re after important or potent elixirs in Tears of the Kingdom, you can trade Bubbul Gem rewards for those too. A special vendor named Koltin is your ticket to that market.

How To Find Bubbulfrogs

The good news concerning Bubblefrogs is that they’re predictable. The hiding spaces for these gem-dropping frogs are often within caves or otherwise secluded spaces. The trick to finding multiples of these creatures is not necessarily in where they are but in catching them once you discover them. Bubblefrogs are weak creatures that can be taken down with a single hit. With that in mind, it may be best to keep a bow and arrow equipped at all times so that you can shoot them on sight. To find the Bubbulfrogs, navigate to as many caves or places within the Depths as you can and keep a close eye out.

Looking For The Glow

It’s easy to find Bubbulfrogs in Tears of the Kingdom because of their glowing blue color. In caves, they tend to stick out. They’re especially easy to spot because they always tend to hang out on the walls of a cave. When you explore a cave for the first time, keep an eye out for that blue glow. There may be caves that are hidden by rock rubble or natural landscapes.

Finding Blupee

Glowing animals tend to lead to other glowing animals, and Bubbul Gems rewards.

To find caves more often, consider keeping an eye out for Blupee. These glowing blue rabbits are usually just a one-way ticket for Ruppees and target practice, but have another function underneath all the glow and currency. They can lead you to all the Bubbulfrog locations in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. If you’re looking for a cave, the Blupee will lead to a cave if you keep up with it, so if you find one scampering around, odds are it will lead you to a cave that you’ve never discovered before. At times, you may come across a Gerudo woman who is relaxing underneath a tree. She informs players that she can highlight the surrounding caves temporarily. With this buff, you can find caves, and Blupee, much faster.

Paying Attention to the Environment

Another indicator of a cave near your area is what trees are growing in the surrounding space. For example, trees like the Cherry Blossom tree and the large Sakura tree are both ones that spawn near caves. So if you’re seeing any number of those around, there’s a good chance that a cave system is nearby. Another way you can tell if there’s a cave system nearby is by looking at nearby structures. If something looks like it can collapse, try blowing it up with a Bomb Arrow. Using these tactics combined, you can find all the Bubbulfrog locations in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
