We all saw the changes to armor in The Edge of Fate, which added set bonuses and other additions to make armor feel more impactful. Destiny 2: Renegades is bringing the same to the table with a lot of new armor set bonuses that some Guardians will benefit from. Whether you get your armor from the campaign, the new dungeon, or somewhere else, it is important to know which one will be the best for your current build, so here are all the set bonuses you need to watch out for in Renegades.
[This guide is a work in progress, and we will update it once more armor sets become available.]
Every Armor Set Bonus in Destiny 2: Renegades
At the time of writing, there are seven armor sets, each with its own bonuses, in Destiny 2: Renegades. Like with previous armor, there are bonuses for wearing two pieces and even greater effects when wearing four. Here is the full list:
- Ferropotent
- 2-Piece Bonus: Rapid Repair – When your shields begin to regenerate, gain flinch resistance and damage desistance for a short time.
- 4-Piece Bonus: Built From Scratch – While your reserves are low, combatant final blows with weapons provide additional ammo progress based on their ammo type. Primary ammo weapons boost Special ammo progress, and Special ammo weapons boost Heavy ammo progress.
- New Demotic
- 2-Piece Bonus: Paroli – Primary ammo weapons gain a bonus to flinch resistance after sliding.
- 4-Piece Bonus: Martingale – Your weapons gain a temporary increase to handling and aim-down sight speed when an ally is defeated, or you revive an ally.
- Sage Protector
- 2-Piece Bonus: Combat Meditation – Sword hits return grenade and class energy. Bonus energy is granted if Blade Focus is active.
- 4-Piece Bonus: Blade Focus – Briefly guard with a Sword to ready Blade Focus. While Blade Focus is readied, hitting a target with your sword increases Sword damage and lunge distance for a moderate duration.
- Shrewd Survivor
- 2-Piece Bonus: Reflex Action – Swapping to a Heat weapon, Submachine Gun, or Hand Cannon grants a short period of increased handling and accuracy.
- 4-Piece Bonus: Hotshot – Dealing final blows while Reflex Action is active grants a bonus to weapon stat and increases stability, reload, and aim assist for Heat weapons, Submachine Guns, and Hand Cannons for a moderate duration.
- Swordmasters
- 2-Piece Bonus: Balestra – Damaging a target with a Sword, Glaive, or any melee attack exhausts them. Exhausted targets deal reduced outgoing damage.
- 4-Piece Bonus: Stresso Tempo – Blocking attacks with a Sword or a Glaive grants a short period of damage resistance against combatants when you next drop your guard.
- Thriving Survivor
- 2-Piece Bonus: Opening Act – Final blows with grenades grant Heat weapons stability and vent speed, and grant Primary ammo weapons bonus stability and reload speed.
- 4-Piece Bonus: Room Clearing – Multiple final blows with Heat weapons or Primary ammo weapons grant bonuses to weapon and grenade stats and increased ammo generation for Heat Weapons and Primary ammo Weapons.
- Wild Anthem
- 2-Piece Bonus: Fanfare – Gain increased reload speed for the bottom half of your equipped weapon’s magazine.
- 4-Piece Bonus: Suros Harmony – Reloading a weapon grants it a bonus to handling and reduces incoming flinch for a short time.
For those Guardians who care about properly building their character, it is important to check the armor set bonuses of Renegades ahead of time. Some will favor Praxic Blade users, while others might be excellent for the new dungeon exotic. So, start planning your build before diving into the Lawless Frontier.
