Do you think V can finally become a Legend in Night City? Or do you think the City will bite back, this time for good? Well, you’ll have to decide your final path. There are several laid out before V filled with different fates for yourself and allies. Are you unsure which decision to make and who to make it with? Well, we’ve got your guide to all Cyberpunk 2077 endings available. Something to note, however, is that Phantom Liberty will add another ending to the game depending on your choices. For now, let’s check out all the base game endings.
After everything, it’s no surprise V’s ending comes at the barrel of a gun. But who’s it aimed at and who’s squeezing the trigger is up to you. For simplicity’s sake, we’ll refer to V as “she” as we discuss the Cyberpunk 2077 endings since we played with the female version.
Some of the endings will rely on earlier decisions. So, if you haven’t met the requirements for them all, you will find yourself locked out of certain Cyberpunk 2077 endings. Now it’s time to see how V’s life can pan out. There are four primary endings in the game with variations within them along with one secret ending.
Ending 1 Guide – The Devil
Requirements: None
The ending lives up to its name. “The Devil” requires V to make a deal with Hanako Arasaka, much to Johnny’s anger and disappointment. But V will take the Omega Blockers so it’s only her running the show.
Following through with the mission allows you to capture Yorinobu Arasaka. Hanako will keep her word to V in this Cyberpunk 2077 ending.
However, things don’t happen as planned as V wakes in an Arasaka facility orbiting Earth. You’ll undergo a series of repetitive tests, getting to speak to friends if you please. Eventually, you will meet either Hellman or Takemura to discuss signing a contract. The contract will see V’s engram uploaded into Mikoshi.
Either way, the game will end. The end credits conversations with everyone play out much the same no matter your choice. It’s worth noting that you only unlock the achievement if you meet with Takemura.
Ending 2 – The Sun
Requirements:
- Complete Rogue’s questline through “Blistering Love”
- Ask Rogue for help
If you put your faith in Johnny for this Cyberpunk 2077 ending, you can give him control of V’s body. He’ll seek out Rogue’s help to infiltrate Arasaka Tower.
The plan involves shooting up the place and attacking guards on various levels as you battle to the control room. You can opt for a stealthy approach or guns blazing. Either way will get you to your goal.
If you storm the place with Rogue, Adam Smasher will kill her. It’s a scripted death, so there’s no avoiding it.
Once the fighting’s over, you’ll link into Mikoshi to see Alt and V. Although it’s Johnny’s decision in-game, you still have control over who returns to V’s body. Your choice will decide how the rest of the game ends.
V Returns To Her Body
If V returns, you awaken in a fancier apartment. For those of you with a love interest, they will be lying in the bed. You learn V is now the queen of the Afterlife, taking over Rogue’s role.
When you head to the Afterlife, you’ll meet with a client and discuss your upcoming mission. It takes V to space to get to the Crystal Palace Casino.
Johnny Takes Over V’s Body
Johnny will awaken in a motel in V’s body. There are a series of missions you’ll do in this Cyberpunk 2077 mission, but they’re simple. It leads to Johnny leaving Night City for good to start a new life.
Ending 3 Guide – The Star
Requirements:
- Finish Panam’s questline “Queen of the Highway”
- Ask Panam for help
You’ll devise a plan to infiltrate Arasaka Tower with Panam and the rest of the Aldecaldos. This route can take some time as you’ll go through numerous battles before you reach your destination.
In this ending, Adam Smasher will kill Saul. After it’s all over, you’ll make it to Mikoshi to make the same decision as in “The Sun” Cyberpunk 2077 ending.
V Returns To Her Body
In this ending, V will ride off with the Aldecaldos. If you have a love interest, they will be waiting for you at the meeting point. Judy is the only love interest that will leave Night City with you.
Johnny Takes V’s Body
The ending plays out the same as in “The Sun.” Johnny will have a bus ticket and take V’s body out of Night City for good.
Ending 4 – The Path of Least Resistance
Requirements: None
This Cyberpunk 2077 ending doesn’t require much of a guide. It’s one of the darkest and quickest ways to finish the game. V refuses to put anyone else at risk and tosses the pills. Instead, she picks up the gun, and after a discussion with Johnny, decides to end everything on the roof.
Secret Ending Guide
Requirements:
- Choose a specific set of dialogue during Johnny’s “Chippin’ In” quest
- “Nah, fucked that up too.”
- “What do you want from me?”
- “Ok. But as second chances go, this is your last.”
- Select “Think you and Rogue should go” option
- Wait around 5 minutes without choosing anything else
In this ending, V and Johnny decide to storm Arasaka Tower together. Be sure to wait enough time after telling Johnny to go with Rogue.
Be aware: if you die as you storm the Tower, there’s no checkpoint to restart out. It’s a permadeath and will simply end the game. If you make it to Mikoshi, everything will play out largely the same as you will make a choice about V’s body.
For the epilogue, it can play out the same if Johnny takes the body. If V takes her body, she can still head to the Afterlife to play out everything the same as in “The Sun.” The only difference is that Rogue is alive.
