Every Super Mario Bros. Wonder Playable Character
Here’s every playable character in Super Mario Bros. Wonder revealed upon the game’s reveal.
Mario
Of course, the star of the franchise will be playable in Wonder. Mario’s recognizable throughout the whole world due to his iconic red garbs, stunning mustache, and jumping powers. The new Super Mario Bros. Wonder has Mario use new tricks and abilities, including transforming into an elephant.
Luigi
Where ever Mario goes, Luigi isn’t too far behind. As the ultimate “player two” character, Luigi serves as Mario’s sidekick throughout his adventures in the Mushroom Kingdom. Contrasting to the brave and confident Mario, Luigi is timid and often gets scared.
Princess Peach
Princess Peach returns in a more active role in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Peach used to be the damsel-in-distress that Mario and Luigi had to save, but recent titles have her be part of the adventure. Usually, when she’s a playable character, Peach has a unique ability that allows her to float, letting her fall slower than other characters.
Princess Daisy
Princess Diasy tends to be left out of the multiplayer Mario games. She’s often reserved for the Mario sports games. However, Super Mario Bros. Wonder changes that by including Daisy as one of the playable characters. Daisy’s most well-known for her appearance throughout the Mario franchise, with many fan’s seeing her as Luigi’s love interest.
Yellow Toad
To fill out the playable character roster in the New Super Mario Bros. Games, Mario and Luigi were joined by a Blue and Yellow Toad. Yellow Toad returns as a playable character in Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
Yoshi
The Super Mario Bros. Wonder announcement trailer didn’t show gameplay footage with Yoshi as a playable character. Nonetheless, official artwork for the game shows Yoshi alongside the rest of the playable characters.
Blue Toad
The announcement trailer featured no gameplay footage of Blue Toad in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Nevertheless, the promo image for the game features a Goomba wearing a Blue Toad hat. While this isn’t confirmation that Blue Toad is in the game, suggesting that the character will have a presence in the title. It’s possible Blue Toad transforms into a Goomba or a Goomba is simply wearing his hat.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder will launch on the Nintendo Switch on October 20.
