After you obtain a ship, you can now explore the whole map. Although you may be excited to visit new locations, you still have a mission. Your next objective is to find six orbs that you need to gather to awaken Ramia in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake. This divine bird will allow you to fly in the sky and reach isolated areas. However, finding the six orbs is not an easy task since they are located in far-flung places.

Where To Find Six Orbs in Dragon Quest III Remake

Before you set out to find the six orbs in Dragon Quest 3 Remake, you will need to find the Ultimate Key first. This is the last magic key you need to gather, and it will allow you to pass through any doors. You must enter Edina and retrieve the Bottomless Pot, which will open the path to a secret dungeon. Unfortunately, this isolated kingdom doesn’t like outsiders, so you need to sneak inside by purchasing Fading Jenny at Lanson.

Once you have the Ultimate Key, you can start going to these locations to obtain the six orbs in Dragon Quest 3 Remake:

  • Green Orb – Theddon
  • Red Orb – Pirates’ Den
  • Purple Orb – Jipang
  • Blue Orb – Lanson
  • Yellow Orb – ??? (New Town)
  • Silver Orb – Necrogod Shrine

Green Orb

The location of the Green Orb in Dragon Quest 3 Remake is in Theddon. This abandoned village is located on the southwestern side of the map. Note that you have to visit this village at night to speak with the villagers’ ghosts. Head to the prison on the northern side to talk with the NPC.

Although the man is eager to give you the key item, monsters will stop you from taking it. You will need to defeat the Dying Fire boss before you can claim the object. The enemies will mainly attack with Wind magic, but they can also cause the Paralyze status effect.

Red Orb

Pirates' Den.

The Red Orb is another easy one to take in Dragon Quest 3 Remake. In fact, it’s even easier since you don’t have to fight any enemies. Just head to the Pirates’ Den and then go to the statue on the northeastern side. The item you’re looking for will be hidden in the underground chamber.

Purple Orb

The Purple Orb can only be obtained after you beat Orochi in Jipang twice. The first one will require you to enter a dungeon and face the monster while surrounded by magma. As you can see based on the environment, you should try to equip fire-resistant gear and use Ice magic to beat this monster.

After you beat it once, you will need to defeat it for the second time after it manages to flee to Jipang. You will get a chance to rest before you face it the second time, so I suggest you take a break and save the game before confronting the creature.

Blue Orb

You can obtain the Blue Orb in Dragon Quest 3 Remake by completing the Gaiaโ€™s Pit Trial in Lanson. Unlike most fights where you have allies, the hero has to face this challenge alone. You will still need to go through a lengthy dungeon and face a boss at the end, so ensure that you are ready.

Chiromancer is the final enemy you need to beat in this trial. He can use various elemental spells and will try to summon an ally to fight alongside it. The best magic to use against this boss is Zapple to inflict a single target Lightning attack.

Yellow Orb

The Yellow Orb isn’t that hard to get in Dragon Quest 3 Remake, but you need to be a bit patient. You must travel to an unnamed town on the northeastern side of the map and speak with the old man in the lone hut. He will ask you to bring you a merchant. What you have to do is to create a new party member with this class.

Be warned that the ally you give will be removed permanently from your party. So don’t use your leveled-up allies, or it will be a waste. After you send off your ally, you just need to wait for the town to be developed. Note that the merchant’s name will be the name of this new city. For instance, I named my merchant Reigen, so the town name became Reigenburg.

Silver Orb

The Silver Orb is the hardest one to get in Dragon Quest 3 Remake. While the man holding the item will happily give it to you, the process of reaching the Necrogod Shrine is very lengthy. Here’s what you have to do:

  1. Visit Manoza and get thrown into prison by the king.
  2. Go to the mine southeastern side of Manoza to get Ra’s Mirror.
  3. Use the mirror on the king while he is asleep at night.
  4. Defeat the Troll boss and return the rightful king to the throne.
  5. Give the Mod Staff to an old man on the northernmost island.
  6. Visit the ghost ship south of Portoga and grab the locket.
  7. Travel to Olivia’s Promontory and sail your ship between the two statues.
  8. Head to the new dungeon revealed after the event to get Mountaincleaver.
  9. Go to the volcano and try to throw Mountaincleaver into the crater.
  10. Defeat the Garboyle boss and then finally throw the sword.
  11. Pass through the Maw of the Necrogod dungeon to reach the shrine.

Once you have all six orbs in Dragon Quest III Remake, the last location you must visit is the Shrine of the Everbird, which is located south of the map. On top of the tower, you can meet the twin priestesses who will help you awaken Ramia.
