In For the King 2, all of your actions and interactions in Fahrul are dictated by your character classes’ stats. Computer RPG and tabletop gamers should already be familiar with such concepts. The stats don’t just affect your combat abilities, though. You also have to be armed with some degree of specific stats when dealing with events you and your party end up stumbling upon.

There are seven core stats available for all classes in For The King 2. They all have some effect on mechanics both in and out of combat. In battle, they can increase your chance of hitting enemies and how much damage you deal, or how often you can attack or dodge an enemy. The higher that stat is, the higher the chance you are able to complete a move. For instance, having 50 Talents gives you a 50% chance of dealing damage per roll with a Talent-based weapon. This is important to note since there are weapons that come with several rolls per move! You can quickly check your party’s stats by pressing the P key.

Some of them are also needed to pass the stat checks in Encounters, random events sprinkled throughout the map. For example, you might need to pass a 1 Strength check to help a trapped wolf get out of a bear trap. There’s also a unique mechanic called Focus, where you can spend this special point for a guaranteed action. Below is a quick explanation of all For The King 2 core stats and the Focus system.
