Since each Tool provides different information and evidence, it’s necessary to know what each of them do so that you can use them correctly.
Demonologist: All Tools & How to Use Them
- EMF Detector
- The EMF Detector detects electromagnetic waves that are produced by spirits in the area. The EMF Detector can help you determine what are the spirit is in.
- ESG Detector
- The ESG Detector can help to raise the paranormal energy in an area, which in turn will display an image of the spirit above it. To use it, you simply have to place it down in the room where the spirit is, and if the spirit is one that can interact with the ESG Detector, you will eventually see an image of the spirit appear above the detector.
- Flashlight
- The Flashlight is an entirely necessary Tool, as it provides light for you to see in dark and scary locations. To use it, use your mouse wheel to scroll to the flashlight, then use the left mouse button to toggle it on and off.
- Easel Canvas
- The Easel Canvas can be used by spirits to do drawings. Most times the images end up looking the same, since the spirits draw images from the dimension they live in. To use the Easel Canvas, simply place it in the room where the spirit is. More often than not, the spirit will not draw with you near them, so you may need to leave the room with the Easel Canvas for a while and come back in order to allow the spirit to draw the image.
- Ecto Glass
- The Ecto Glass Tool allows you to see Ectoplasm Stains on the walls throughout the map, and sometimes even the spirit’s Time of Death if you are on the Cyclone Street map. To use the Ecto Glass, hold down the left mouse button to look through it.
- Spirit Box
- The Spirit Box is used to communicate with spirits. You can speak to them and ask questions with it by holding down the left mouse button while you speak. If the entity attempts to speak back to you, the light on the top right side of the Spirit Box will light up and you can mark it down as evidence.
- UV Light
- The UV Light is used to locate and view spirit traces that can’t be seen with the plain eye. Equip the UV Light to check doors and light switches for handprints left behind from spirits that can be used as evidence to determine what sort of spirit you are dealing with.
- Crucifix
- The Crucifix is meant to protect you from spirits that are hunting you. While you are being hunted, wielding a crucifix can save you from death.
- Thermometer
- The Thermometer is a very important tool, since it’s hard to pay attention to the temperature of the room when there are so many other things going on. Before you have access to the Thermometer Tool, you can only gauge the temperature by whether or not you can see your breath while walking through the map.
- Sanity Pills
- Sanity Pills are definitely your friend when it comes to long, extended haunts where you try to complete each of the objectives. Whenever you find yourself lacking Sanity, you can pop a Sanity Pill to raise your sanity back up.
- Candle
- The Candle can be used to provide lighting in dark areas. Though, the Candle is preferred over the Flashlight, as spirits tend to dislike Candlelight and can even help detect when a spirit is around. You can ask the spirit to blow out the candle.
- Tripod Camera
- The Tripod Camera is a fairly useful Tool, as it allows you to place a camera somewhere on the map so that you can remotely monitor the area from the camp. This can save you from being hurt and losing your sanity.
- Photo Camera
- The Photo Camera allows you to take pictures of your surroundings. Using the Photo Camera, you can find photographic evidence of a spirit.
