Fans of the extremely popular Marvel-themed hero shooter are buzzing over the latest rumors surrounding the highly anticipated Season 1 roster. Eight iconic characters are set to join the battlefield sometime in 2025, starting from January, if the hearsay is to be believed. As always though, until official announcements drop, take this leak with a grain of salt. According to the leak, the Marvel Rivals Season 1 roster includes:
- Blade.
- Emma Frost.
- Jean Grey/Phoenix.
- Human Torch.
- Invisible Woman.
- Mr. Fantastic.
- The Thing.
- Ultron.
Previously, we covered the leaks about Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic. Reed will be armed with abilities to stock up on ‘Elasticity’ and inflate his torso to buff damage and heal himself. Some players suspected he’d become a Vanguard because of his kits, but leaks suggested the Fantastic Four leader is a Duelist instead.
Speaking of the Fantastic Four, it seems the whole crew will be added during Season 0. Unsurprisingly, Ben ‘The Thing’ Grimm is a Vanguard with a passive that makes him immune to knockback. His offensive abilities include a charge and a slam that can throw enemies away and a jump that gives damage reduction to surrounding teammates.
Meanwhile, Sue Storm the Invisible Woman is the team’s Strategist and Human Torch has a Team-Up with Storm of the X-Men. Johnny Storm can enhance Storm’s hurricane, flaming them on to increase damage with their Omega Fire. No doubt there will also be a Team-Ups for using all Fantastic Four in one team.
Details on other characters are still scarce, but leaks have revealed what abilities the Avengers’ recurring villain, Ultron, will have. As a Strategist, Ultron can glide, fly, and summon Ultron Drones to heal teammates — or damage enemies with its Rage of Ultron Ultimate. As seen above, its design is heavily inspired by its Marvel Cinematic Universe counterpart instead of the original comic version.
It’s also interesting to note that X-Men’s Jean Grey could have the potential to transform into Phoenix. Her devastating power could work like Adam Warlock’s Regenerative Cocoon or when she’s used as an anchor in Marvel vs Capcom 3.
While the Season 1 roster leak hasn’t been confirmed by the Marvel Rivals team, it’s already sparked widespread excitement and speculation within the community. Fans are already theorizing how each of them will translate into competitive matches and which characters will NetEase add for future seasons of Marvel Rivals. Here’s hoping Ghost Rider and Green Goblin to make the cut, and soon!
