Jake Lang has been in the news for various reasons, including his vocal support of ICE and his frequent clashes with protesters. The controversial Florida Republican was recently involved in an incident where he harassed Mayor Zohran Mamdani by bringing a pig into his office during Ramadan. Yet aside from this shocking drama, Jake Lang also got involved in a serious allegation where he was accused of talking inappropriately with a minor.
Allegedly, the Florida Republican was caught by Alex Rosen, who is known for running Predator Poachers, an organization that conducts sting operations to catch adults attempting sexual activity with minors. The alleged messages between Jake Lang and the “15-year-old minor” were spread online, and many people quickly took notice. In the messages, he asked the “minor” whether she was going to join him at his protest and even asked the “girl” to give him her number. Rosen continued the conversation, and the two kept talking. At one point, they discussed age, and the girl said she was 15. The Florida Republican replied by asking whether she would turn 16.
The messages continued after that, but just as things were getting very heated online, Jake Lang responded. He claimed that he “wouldn’t even allow this person to attend my protests until they were 16” and said that “nothing else was discussed except going to a protest.” He also defended himself, saying that it was obviously a phishing scam that his team caught right away and deterred.
Not everyone on the internet accepted the Florida Republican’s explanation. Many began insulting and accusing him of being a pedophile. Some even called him “a member of the Epstein tribe.” One user said,“Oh no! MAGA and a pedophile. Who would’ve thought?”
Some users argued that the way he replied to the fake minor was clearly not how one would normally talk if they were just discussing a protest. The fact that the Florida Republican also tried to get the fake minor to switch to another messaging app was concerning.
While many people condemned Jake Lang, there were still those who sided with the Florida Republican. “There’s actually no ‘more context’ at that ‘goob’ account. There’s also no verification of these claims about Jake Lang. (@JakeLang) Was there a report to ‘predator hunters,’ police, FBI? When it’s proven, I’ll back you 100% and condemn the ‘alleged’ interaction,” one user said. Another wrote, “I don’t care, bro, this has to be fake. I don’t even like that Jake guy, but this is clearly fake.”
