Marvel’s Gang War event is shaking up the Amazing Spider-Man in more ways than one. The major Marvel event finds New York’s most dangerous villains fighting to take control of New York’s seedy crime world. However, there are more issues for Spidey a little closer to home. Previews for Amazing Spider-Man: Gang War – First Strike reveal some of Parker’s friends have some issues with the hero. Specifically, Miles Morales is calling out his friend for being absent so long.
Calling Out The Amazing Spider-Man
Writers Zeb Wells and Cody Ziglar work with artists Joey Vazquez and Julian Shaw for this new Amazing Spider-Man story. As Gang War kicks off, Spidey busies himself with hunting down a new hard-to-catch villain. This villain, known as Slyde, seems impossible to nail down. Of course, two Spideys are better than one and it isn’t long before Miles Morales joins in on the hunt. However, there is more than crime-fighting on Miles’ mind.
The younger web-crawler is more interested in calling out his mentor and friend. He wants to know where Peter has been the whole time he has been gone. Plus, Miles is upset that his friend has not gotten in contact since returning. As the two heroes work through some issues, Miles also lets Peter know that he isn’t the only one who has a bone to pick with the Amazing Spider-Man. Looks like Parker might need to make some amends before fully tackling the Gang War issue.
Marvel’s Gang War
Marvel’s Gang War event is spreading beyond issues of Amazing Spider-Man. For the past few weeks, many of Spidey’s enemies are dealing with the consequences of the death of Madame Masque. It all went down during the wedding of Beetle and Janice Lincoln AKA Tombstone’s daughter. However, Maggia enforcer Hammerhead had other plans for the nuptials and planned an attack. Now, the criminal world of New York is reaching a boiling point that will spill over for both villains and heroes alike.
