Amazon Prime is stepping up its game once again, offering a new service that might bring more gamers into its fold.

Along with the membership’s many other benefits, Amazon Prime members will now be getting 20% for new video games. This applies for games anytime from pre-order to two weeks after its release. However, there is one catch to this deal – all of the games must be physical copies. To compensate for this, Amazon is also offering release day delivery, in a promise that those with the membership will be able to get hard copies of games as soon as possible.

Amazon is already one of the most common places for people to shop for video games. With this added benefit for members of Prime, the large online company is looking to gain further advantage over their competitors.

Amazon is looking to secure the gamer market with their new deal for Prime members.

Along with 20% off new game releases, Prime members also enjoy: fast and free shipping on all purchases; free unlimited photo storage on the Amazon Cloud Drive; unlimited music streaming through Prime Music; free streaming of movies and TV shows; thousands of free ebooks for Kindle owners; and early access to Amazon deals. Anyone can start a free 30-day trial for the membership. After that time is up, Amazon Prime costs $99 for the year.

Overall, a Prime membership may be worth the cost, especially if you already use Amazon as your primary means of obtaining new video games – and the free shipping is always a nice bonus.
