American Couple Try Bringing an Unexploded Bomb Through an Airport: ‘How Did They Even Get a Passport With That Thinking’

That wasn’t very smart

Several things in the world are just universally known by everyone. Some of those things include eating when you’re hungry and, in all cases, not bringing bombs to airports. Unfortunately, it seems that an American couple returning to the States from holiday thought that bringing an unexploded bomb through an airport would be just fine. A Reddit post details the immediate aftermath.

An American couple were visiting a country when they found an unexploded bomb in the wild, believed to be from WWII. They decided to bring it back to the US. This is what happened at the airport when they brought out the bomb at the security check.

Reddit user rodriguezmm6pr posted a video of the inside of an airport as people frantically rush past him. In the video’s caption, it is explained that an American couple discovered an unexploded bomb while on vacation. I think that they considered the bomb to be a unique souvenir, so instead of reporting it, they tried to take it back home to the States.

Of course, because it was a bomb, the security check immediately flagged the item. The flagging apparently notified bystanders of the device, causing a mass panic. In the video, you can see people fleeing or sheltering as best they could. One person asks the question that everyone else in the comments is thinking,

How did they even get a passport with that thinking”

In response to that comment, another commenter replied with,

LoL there’s no IQ checks for passport applications…..unfortunately.”

Cjhwahaha

Realistically, I think even a person with the lowest IQ imaginable would still know not to bring a bomb to an airport. Fortunately, nobody was hurt, and it did not detonate, but it was still a close call. Those people couldn’t possibly know what state the bomb was in, potentially endangering thousands of people.

I want to think that the Americans trying to bring the bomb back were blacklisted from flying ever again. There are a lot of stupid things you could do to get kicked out of an airplane or airport, but bringing a bomb might just be the most ridiculous.
