Get the details below.
Ramona Singer’s RHONY Exit Is Controversial
The seasoned Housewife of New York City broke the net on Friday, November 11, when she announced she was retiring. She told Page Six at the time:
“I do not want to do the show any longer. It’s not for me at this time.”
In an October interview, Ramona also spoke about the new version of the series, Legacy. There, the fashion designer clarified if she would appear in it or not.
“I’ve been there for a long time. I mean, never say no, never say never,” she said on Reality with the King podcast.
“But I also feel like the ‘Legacy’ [show], how could it be really good? The people they are gonna bring back are the people they didn’t want to renew anyways.”
The TV personality raised the ire of many when she called it ‘The Loser Show’ and the ‘Loser Legacy.’
Meanwhile, there are reports that Ramona is leaving only because Bravo didn’t offer her a spot on the revamped show. The new show is set to bring back fan favorites from past seasons. Insider reports also revealed that the network was going to ask her back until she started criticizing the new spinoff.
Andy Cohen Calls Negative Reactions Hypocritical
Bravo chief Andy Cohen berated those who expressed sadness at Ramona Singer’s RHONY exit on Wednesday, November 16.
Speaking on his Sirius XM radio show, Radio Andy, Andy said people saw it coming and called them out for their hypocrisy. The 54-year-old admitted that one of the things which make social media hilarious is people’s responses.
“It was ‘Please, no Ramona.’ You go on Twitter, ‘Get rid of Ramona!’ But the second Ramona announces she’s leaving, ‘Nooo, Ramona’s a legend!’ Like, it’s so funny. It’s so funny,” the radio host said.
The TV host praised Ramona’s participation in the hit series, calling it “incredible television.” However, he admitted that her exit could have been a little less shady. He disclosed that she is bullish about the issues but refrained from making further comments.
Whether or not Ramona is leaving because she wasn’t invited to the spinoff, she remains a respected veteran. And while some didn’t like her, she represented the Bravo series to many more. So her fans will surely miss her as she closes the curtain on this part of her life.
